Understructure components, namely pedestals, establish the foundation for every raised floor system. We provide different models and sizes to fulfill varying needs of designers and engineers. We also manufacture custom pedestals to meet project-specific requirements.

Standard Pedestals
Typical Data Centers, General Office Areas

Square Tube.
Designed for typical finished floor heights (FFH), most commonly between 6" to 48".


Features:  All steel construction, fillet welded base, single locking nut.


Options:  6" to 48" FFH, 4 in.2 or 5 in.2 baseplate


50+% Recycled Content.  The standard pedestal contains over 50% recycled steel: 35+% from post-consumer and 15+% post-industrial.


Summary:  The square tube pedestal delivers support for the most common raised floor environments. It will fully support any of our solid and airflow panels.

Low-Profile Pedestals
Low Ceilings, Data Centers, General Office Areas

Threaded Rod.
Designed for finished floor heights less than 6".


Features:  All steel construction, projection welded base, two nuts for adjusting and locking height, 4 in.2 baseplate.


Options:  2" to 5" FFH


50+% Recycled Content.  The low-profile pedestal contains over 50% recycled steel: 35+% from post-consumer and 15+% post-industrial.


Summary:  The low-profile pedestal was designed with low-ceiling and tight-space environments in mind, and will fully support any of our solid and airflow panels.

Heavy Duty Pedestals
Seismic Zone 4, Tall FFH Environments, Data Centers, Industrial Sites, General Office Areas

Round Tube.
Designed for buildings in Seismic Zone 4
with tall finished floor heights (FFH).


Features:  All steel construction, fillet welded base, single locking nut.


Options:  24" to 48" FFH, 5 in.2 or 6 in.2 baseplate, type of tube top

Summary:  The heavy duty pedestal was designed to address buildings in Seismic Zone 4 and for heavy load, tall FFH areas. It will fully support any of our solid and airflow panels.

Stringers  

PANEL WITH RIGID GRID SYSTEM

Fully Enclosed vs. Conventional:

Rigid Grid Systems.   Stringers bind pedestals together at their tops, adding lateral rigidity to the entire understructure system. By installing stringers, an understructure's uniformity is further reinforced for normal operational activities and seismic events alike.


Features: Steel construction, fully enclosed tube provides greater strength over conventional open bottom stringers, galvanized to protect against corrosion, black vinyl strip (on top) for a quieter fit with panels


Available Sizes:  2' and 4' lengths


Rigid Grid Installation Patterns:

Standard grid:  2' stringers

Basketweave pattern:  4' stringers
